The Dreams for Daily Lightamins
Now that Daily Lightamins app is available on Android and Apple, what’s next?
- New features – There will certainly be a need to make the app better, to update it to keep up with the changes in technology, etc.
- More Authors – Currently I, David Hicks, am the only author. It would be really nice to get some good writing from other devote followers of Christ as well.
- New Languages – Why stop at English? If this proves to be effective, why not expand to Spanish, French, and beyond? Of course, some rebranding may be needed (Yeah, I have no idea how to translate “lightamin” into French), but the fundamentals will remain the same.
- Specializing – Two areas in which I have thought about specializing the Daily Lightamins app – one geared for women and one for teens.
And what expenses are you facing currently? I’m glad I asked for you. Here are the three biggest financial thorns currently in our side:
- Amazon Web Services – $140 / month.
- The app code, the data for the app, and the ability to manage it all have to live somewhere.
- For Daily Lightamins, that home is on an AWS server.
- Twilio texting services – $30 / month.
- Websites – $30 / month.
- Currently I have 3 websites that I am maintaining – one for Daily Lightamins, one for Quiet Creations LLC, and one personal one that I use in part to tell others about the Daily Lightamins app.
And What is This “Quiet Creations” Thing?
Quiet Creations LLC is the company I created for doing business such as Daily Lightamins. While Daily Lightamins is its first and only creation so far, I certainly don’t want it to be its last. There is “Celebration Station”, a cartoon that will be designed to reach children all over the world, helping them learn about their loving God and their amazing Savior Jesus while hopefully having lots of laughs in the process. Other projects for the Lord are in the back of my mind as well, but right now these two are my primary focus.
What Happens to My Donation?
I set aside some for the IRS (yes, I should really work on making this a non-profit), 15% to help me and my family survive (my wife thanks you!), and then the rest goes either strictly to the work of Daily Lightamins or to the general fund of Quiet Creations LLC, depending on which donation you make.
